Sacristans are lay members of the church who help prepare the altar and sanctuary for Mass and other liturgical celebrations. Responsibilities include setting up the sacred vessels, linens, and other items needed for Mass and cleaning up the sanctuary afterwards. This behind-the-scenes role is essential for the smooth flow of each liturgy. Reverence, attention to detail, and dependability are essential skills needed to fulfill this ministry. At Holy Trinity, being a sacristan is open to fully initiated adults who are in full communion with the Catholic Church. Children 5th grade or older are welcome to assist their parent with approval. Training is provided.
