Religious Education classes meet weekly on Wednesday evenings September through April. The children are divided by grade level and participate in engaging activities that are hands on. Discover! Finding Faith in Life is the curriculum we use on these evenings and the children study a Bible story followed by a “Core Teaching” that helps the children learn how and why we incorporate the values into our Catholic faith. It is a nice combination of Bible, Catechism and Catholic Social Teaching and it is more interactive versus only worksheet based. We also challenge the kids to learn their basic Catholic prayers and use a saint trading card game as an incentive to complete challenges given to the students.
Our philosophy for religious education classes is that we as a parish provide added support to you as parents. Parents are the primary educators of their children, especially when it comes to the faith. We offer the weekly classes to assist you, but the classes are not meant to replace what they get at home. We are here as a resource to help you put Jesus at the center of your family! Please let us know how we can help!

2nd grade and 6th grade are sacramental preparation years. These classes meet at the same time on Wednesday evenings as the classes above, but use a different curriculum that is better equipped to teach the sacraments. Second graders prepare for the Sacrament of Penance and First Holy Communion. Sixth graders prepare for the Sacrament of Confirmation. Please use these links for more details on these sacraments.
