Catholic Schools Week
by Ashley B.

Catholic Schools week started January 27th.  On this day the theme was "Catholic Schools Light the Way in our Parish" and students wore their uniform shirts and attended mass with their families at 10:30, then visited the Book Fair and Father Philip read a story.  On Monday, January 28th the theme was "Catholic Schools Light the Way for our Students".   On this day all students were appreciated and treated to breakfast and the teachers did not assign any homework.  Tuesday, January 29th and theme was "Catholic Schools Light the way for our Community and Nation".  Elected officials were invited to lunch and students wore red, white and blue to show pride in their nation.  On Wednesday, January 30th the theme was "Catholic Schools Light the way in our Families".  The students took a trip to the bowling alley for Bowling for Bucks (a fund raiser for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society in conjunction with the Pennies for Patients Program).  In the evening families gathered for bingo game night and book fair.  On Thursday, January 31st it was faculty and staff appreciation day.  The teachers dressed casually and were treated to a catered lunch and the seventh and eighth grade taught classes that day.  On Friday, February 1st grades 2-8 volunteered at the Oklahoma Regional Food Bank and packed over 3 tons in food for needy families.   Catholic Schools Week had a lot in store!!
